UVU's 75th Anniversary

UVU 75

January 1st 2016 marks Utah Valley University’s 75th anniversary.  UVU was founded in 1941 as a fledgling vocational trade school, but now is a thriving regional institution of higher learning.  UVU is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the state of Utah.  To celebrate, UVU has a list of fun and exciting events for 75 strong years.

This is an opportunity for UVU to reflect upon the origins of the University, and also looking forward to a bright and optimistic future.  To reflect upon UVU’s rich history, Dr. Sondra Jones, UVU’s own history professor, is producing and writing a book featuring the intriguing history of the University.  This book will be available online and at the UVU bookstore for $19.41 this upcoming spring.

UVU is also excited to receive a 2000 square foot glass mural in the University’s library. This project is privately funded by donors  wanting to add beauty and culture to the University.  This mural has been worked on for nearly six years, and has the title of “The Roots of Knowledge”.  Holden Studios is the creator of this masterpiece.
