UCCU Named in List of Best Teen Savings Accounts in the Nation

Nerdwallet, a finance website dedicated to exploring and sharing  the best personal finance and investing information, has included Utah Community Credit Union on one of the lists of top ten credit unions in the nation. The credit union made the list in the category of Best Teen Savings Accounts.

The writers at Nerdwallet follow strict criteria in their rankings and searched the Internet to research thousands of credit unions. In compiling their list of best teen savings accounts, they considered criteria which include a low opening deposit, a high interest rate, no monthly fees, and any additional perks which the credit unions have to offer.

Utah Community Credit Union’s Youth Saver account, part of the BeMoneySmart program, was featured as one of the top teen savings account in the nation, highlighting the perks of the Youth Saver account. The Youth Savers account is available to all youth from ages 0-17 and includes the higher interest rate found in the money market account. Access to the Youth Savers account is facilitated by the newly re-branded BeMoneySmart website at bemoneysmart.org. Additional perks include the Youth Savers checking accounts, e-Transfers, and great rates for the add-on CD. The BeMoneySmart program is designed for kids of all ages to learn to be financially responsible. The program is also designed to provide parents with tips and resources necessary to fostering an environment of financial learning in the home.
